The Ministry of Labor reported that from January to December of year 2024, the “1955 Labor Consultation and Complaint Hotline” handled a total of 202,747 calls under its migrant worker consultation and protection program. This was an increase of 1,877 calls compared to the same period in year 2023, which recorded 250,870 calls. Nearly 90% of the calls were inquiries, with the most common topics being referrals to other departments and interpretation services, followed by questions regarding meal and accommodation fees and early contract termination. Meanwhile, most calls from local citizens were reports of illegal migrant workers.
The Ministry of Labor highlighted the key features of the 1955 hotline, including 24/7 year-round service. In addition to Mandarin, the hotline also provides consultation services in English, Thai, Indonesian, and Vietnamese. Furthermore, calls to the 1955 hotline are free of charge, whether made via mobile phones, landlines, or public telephones.
The Ministry of Labor reminded migrant workers, employers, and labor agencies that they can call the 1955 hotline at any time for immediate interpretation services for medical visits, official matters, work, or daily life needs.
1955移工諮詢專線 113年受理20餘萬通
勞動部指出,113年1至12月「1955勞工諮詢申訴專線」之移工諮詢保護專案總受理話務為20萬2,747通,較112年同期25萬870通、增加1,877通,其中近9成為諮詢服務,以轉介事項如其他部門與通譯服務最多,其次是詢問膳宿費與提前解約等契約事項最多,至於本國人來電主要是檢舉非法移工。
勞動部說明,「1955勞工諮詢申訴專線」特色,包括24小時全年無休服務、接聽人員除中文外,並提供移工母國語言之英語、泰國、印尼語、越南語的諮詢服務,同時不論透過手機、市話或公共電話服務,撥打1955專線,均不用負擔任何費用。
勞動部提醒,移工、雇主、仲介業者在就醫、洽公、工作或生活所需,都可撥打1955線上即時通譯尋求服務。
