(FWA 2025/10/15)The annual grand event, “2025 Island Life Festival,” hosted by the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Administration) at Heping Island Geopark, will take place from Saturday, October 18, to Sunday, October 19, 2025. This year’s theme, “Island Connections,” focuses on cross-cultural exchange, inviting everyone to experience a diverse atmosphere of music, food, markets, and art amidst the autumn sea breeze and sunset. The month-long event features four major highlights: “Island Opening,” “Sea BBQ Night,” “Island Market,” and “Winter Lens,” ensuring an exciting autumn for all. Additionally, starlight tickets will be available for on-site purchase after 6:00 PM on both days for NT$60. The ticket value can be fully redeemed at market stalls, allowing the public to enjoy the exclusive nighttime atmosphere at an affordable price.

The “Island Opening” concert will kick off on the beach stage, featuring a lineup that includes the Filipino multi-genre rock band Lola Amour, South Korean musician Jacqui, Taiwanese band 河豚子, and representative music creators Skip Skip Ben Ben, 憂憂, and Cold Dew, presenting a musical feast that transcends borders. Notably, Jacqui was nominated for the “Asia Top Indie Music Award” at the 16th Golden Indie Music Awards in 2025 for her work Dirty Mirror Selfie. This night of interwoven voices and starlight is set to become the most unforgettable memory of this autumn.

The “Island Market” is a powerful collaboration between POPUPASIA® and 有趣市集, bringing together over 40 unique brands. From local young designers in Keelung and specialty products from Taiwan’s outlying islands to creative crafts and cuisine from various Asian countries, Heping Island will become a stage for cross-cultural exchange. Featured brands include Thai handmade crafts Milala Handmade, Feel Youth, and Duang.Kham. Food lovers shouldn’t miss the authentic Vietnamese cuisine from 「越太太」, allowing everyone to savor diverse flavors while discovering handcrafted items with international stories.

In addition to music and markets, the event will also feature the “Sea BBQ Night.” In collaboration with the international outdoor grill brand O-GRILL, this event will use low-smoke, eco-friendly grills and local ingredients to create a sustainable seafood feast. Enjoy a chill seaside dinner with family and friends under the glow of the sunset. Starting in November, the “Winter Lens” program will invite domestic and international photographers for a residency on Heping Island to capture the unique winter ocean light and shadows of Keelung. An online vote will be held in November for the public to select the best winter scenery of Heping Island.

The Administration invited a media tour group before the event to provide comprehensive coverage, hoping to introduce the festival’s features and highlights to a wider audience in advance. The Administration stated that this year’s Island Life Festival centers on “connecting cross-national paths,” linking not only the ocean and land but also the cultures and local lives of Taiwan’s indigenous peoples, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and more. Further lineup and market details will be announced soon.

To accommodate the expected crowds, the organizer has arranged a shuttle bus service. Visitors can park their vehicles in peripheral parking lots or take public transportation to Keelung Railway Station and then transfer to the shuttle bus to Heping Island Geopark (running every 15-30 minutes). For those driving, staff will be on-site to provide traffic guidance and control to ensure smooth traffic flow. The public is encouraged to follow official social media channels and plan their holidays in advance to come to Heping Island Geopark and enjoy this “sustainable and international” island party.
