(FWA 2025/05/12) Taiwan Premier Cho Jung-tai mentioned the idea of establishment of a “cross-border direct hire” system during a media interview on May 10th.
The Ministry of Labor further explained that, referring to other countries’ practices of deploying overseas recruitment resources to introduce transnational labor, the MOL is researching and discussing strengthening the existing direct hiring mechanism, enhancing cooperation with various migrant worker source countries, and not replacing the current Manpower Agency system.
The Executive Yuan stated that in response to Taiwan’s domestic labor demand, the future will involve further expanding the introduction of foreign technical personnel and more diverse approaches to compete for talent with other countries, requiring a more proactive and mid-to long-term strategy.

勞動部進一步說明，參考其他國家於海外佈局招募資源引進跨國勞動力的做法，勞動部正在研究討論強化現有的直聘機制，加強與各移工來源國家合作，並非取代現行仲介制度。
行政院則表示，因應臺灣國內的人力需求，未來將進一步擴大外國技術人力的引進，與更多元的做法，與各國競逐人才，就需要有更積極主動與中長期布局。
