(FWA 2026/7/7)The highly anticipated 2026 New Taipei Labor Star Singing Contest, organized by the New Taipei City Labor Affairs Bureau, is celebrating its 20th anniversary! To honor this milestone, the contest is officially inviting legally employed migrant workers across the entire island to showcase their vocal talents. Registration is now open until 6:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2026.
The special “Migrant Star Group” is dedicated exclusively to migrant workers, breaking regional boundaries to welcome participants working legally anywhere in Taiwan. This is a perfect opportunity for migrant workers to share their culture through music and compete for top honors and cash prizes on a grand stage!
Eligibility & Required Documents
The Migrant Star Group is strictly open to migrant workers who are legally employed in Taiwan. There are no restrictions on the specific city or county of employment. (Note: Previous champions of this contest are not eligible to participate.)
When registering, participants must provide:
Proof of employment or insurance (issued after July 2026).
A copy of their residence permit (ARC) or passport.
On the actual contest day, an original photo ID is mandatory for on-site verification.

Rules & Special Bonus Points
Contestants will be judged on Pitch & Technique (40%), Tone & Emotion (40%), Stage Presence (10%), and Styling (10%).
During the preliminaries, singers must choose from the 150 required tracks (50 Mandarin, 50 Taiwanese, and 50 foreign-language songs) provided by the organizer’s system. Self-provided backing tracks are not permitted in this stage.
Special Bonus: Migrant Star Group contestants who choose to sing Mandarin or Taiwanese songs in the preliminary round are eligible to receive bonus points!
