(FWA 2025/05/12) According to statistics from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the number of traffic accidents involving foreign nationals in Taiwan has steadily increased over the past five years, with injuries and fatalities nearly doubling. Among those most affected are Vietnamese and Indonesian nationals. To gain a deeper understanding of the transportation challenges faced by foreigners in Taiwan, Control Yuan Member Yeh Ta-hua has launched a multilingual questionnaire inviting foreign residents to share their experiences and suggestions. The survey is open from now until May 23, 2025.

The questionnaire addresses several key issues, including:

  • Whether public transportation is sufficiently convenient
  • Whether road signs should include English
  • The implementation of subsidized scooter driving training
    programs
  • The adequacy of pedestrian safety measures

By completing the survey, foreign residents can share their firsthand experiences with Taiwan’s transportation system. Their input will provide valuable insights for the Control Yuan’s investigation and help guide future policy decisions by relevant government agencies. The Control Yuan encourages foreign residents across Taiwan to participate in the survey and contribute to efforts to improve traffic safety.

The survey is anonymous. All responses will be used solely for the Control Yuan’s investigative purposes and will not include or share any personal information with third parties. Please feel free to share the survey with foreign friends and migrant workers. To make the survey more accessible, it is available in six languages: Chinese, English, Filipino, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese.
