(FWA 2025/04/24) According to Ministry of Labor statistics, as of the end of March, the total number of blue-collar migrant workers in Taiwan reached nearly 830,000 by the end of March. Of these, close to 730,000 were employed, while nearly 98,000 were reported missing.
Among them, migrant workers in the manufacturing sector totaled 461,627. Industries employing over 50,000 migrant workers included metal product manufacturing , electronical parts and components manufacturing. The number of migrant workers in the food products and prepared animal feeds manufacturing, machinery and equipment manufacturing also exceeded 30,000 each.
Recently, the United States announced its reciprocal tariff policy, which poses a higher risk of impact to Taiwan’s metal products, transportation equipment, and machinery sectors. While the number of migrant workers in most manufacturing industries remained stable in Q1, it remains to be seen if they will be affected.
根據勞動部統計，至3月底在臺藍領移工總數近83萬人，其中受雇者近73萬人，失聯人數近9.8萬人。
其中製造業移工共計46萬1,627人，聘僱超過5萬名移工的行業為金屬製品製造業、電子零組件製造業。在食品及飼品製造業、機械設備製造業工作的移工也都超過3萬人。
近期美國宣布對等關稅政策，台灣金屬製品、運輸工具、機械等業別受衝擊風險較高；第一季製造業多數行業移工人數維持平穩，是否受影響仍待觀察。
