In January, the Ministry of Education released enrollment statistics for the academic year 2024, revealing that the number of new international students surpassed 20,000, while the total number of international students pursuing degrees reached nearly 79,000.

To strengthen student rights, the Ministry of Education is currently considering amending regulations related to off-campus internships, including stricter requirements for internship institutions based on the industry-education cooperation model.

According to the latest enrollment statistics for the academic year 2024, the number of new international students reached 21,969, an increase of 4,198 compared to the previous year. Excluding graduate students and considering only four-year bachelor’s and vocational programs, the number of new international students was 17,414.

教育部近期公布113學年度大專院校新生註冊情況，其中境外學生新生人數來到2萬1,969人，比去年增加4,198人；若排除研究所學生，僅計算4年制學士、專科等，則新生人數為1萬7,414人。
