In year 2024, the total number of migrant workers in Taiwan exceeded 820,000, with more than 500,000 industrial migrant workers eligible for labor insurance. As Taiwan has been recruiting migrant workers for over 30 years, many foreign nationals who came to work in earlier years are now reaching the age to claim old-age benefits. The number of cases continues to rise, with 13,143 claims for labor insurance old-age benefits filed in year 2024, an increase of 578 cases compared to the same period last year. Among these, 96% were lump-sum payments.

The Ministry of Labor explained that foreign migrant workers who participate in labor insurance according to regulations enjoy the same benefit entitlements as local workers. Therefore, when foreign insured individuals meet the age and work experience requirements, they can apply for benefits accordingly. Foreign insured individuals include migrant workers, foreign professionals, and foreign spouses.

113年外國人請領老年給付1.3萬餘件

113年移工在台總數突破82萬人，其中符合參加勞工保險的產業移工超過50萬人，由於我國移工開放引進超過30年，當年來台工作的外國人也陸續到請領老年給付的年齡，外國人請領老年給付案件持續升上，113年請領勞保老年給付有1萬3,143件，較去年同期增加578件，其中9成6請領一次給付。

勞動部說明，外籍移工依規定參加勞保，享有與本國勞工相同之保險給付權益，因此外籍被保險人於符合年齡及年資等條件時，可依規定提出申請；外籍被保險人包括外籍移工、白領外國人、外籍配偶等。
