The Executive Yuan’s first consultation meeting on tourism industry revitalization was held recently. In addition to finalizing two major flagship projects to build Taiwan’s tourism brand, it also announced that a tourism training institute will be established within a year. In response to issues such as cross-strait tourism and job shortages, it emphasized the restoration of the communication mechanism between the two sessions and the relaxation of policies for foreign students to come to Taiwan for internships. The industry suggested that in the future, the issues could be discussed in groups to come up with more specific and effective solutions, which also reflects the current difficulties faced by the industry when applying for interns.
In response to the manpower needs of the tourism industry, Zheng Lijun said that the Tourism Administration has coordinated with the Ministry of Labor and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission to relax the policy for retaining overseas Chinese students, and starting this year, it will relax the permit period for the tourist hotel and hotel industry to apply for foreign students to come to Taiwan for internships.
政觀諮會議首開 缺工先靠外國學生來實習
行政院首場觀光產業振興諮詢會議日前舉行,除拍板2大旗艦計畫打造臺灣旅遊品牌,也宣布一年內將成立觀光研訓院;針對兩岸觀光、缺工等議題,強調恢復小兩會溝通機制與放寬外國籍學生來臺實習因應。業者建議,未來可針對議題分組討論,提出更具體有效的解決方案,也反映目前業者在申請實習生時遭遇的難題。
針對觀光產業人力需求,鄭麗君表示,觀光署已協調勞動部、僑務委員會放寬僑外生留用政策,並自今年起,放寬觀光旅館業及旅館業申請外國籍學生來臺實習的許可期間。
