(FWA 2025/11/04)To enhance the experience for international transit passengers entering Taiwan, the Tourism Administration announced the launch of the “Enter Taiwan, Enjoy a Gift!” campaign, starting November 1, 2025. Non-ROC (Taiwan) passport holders transiting through Taoyuan Airport who enter Taiwan for a layover within 24 hours will be eligible to receive an airport voucher worth NT$600.

The Administration stated that online registration opens at 12:00 PM on November 1, 2025, and runs until October 31, 2026. Eligible travelers must register online in advance. Upon arrival and after entering Taiwan, they can collect the voucher at the Tourism Administration service center in Terminal 1 or 2 by presenting their passport and onward boarding pass.

This NT$600 voucher can be used at participating vendors within Taoyuan Airport, including dining, duty-free shops, and souvenir stores. The Administration indicated this move aims to encourage travelers to spend and experience Taiwan’s convenience during their layover, enhancing Taiwan’s image as a transit hub.

The Administration noted Taiwan’s advantage as an Asian transit hub, with foreign airlines like Emirates and Etihad recently increasing or launching new routes to Taipei, bringing more travelers from the Middle East and Europe. It is hoped this campaign will help transform Taiwan from a “transfer spot” into a “tourist destination,” boosting the tourism economy.
