The number of missing migrant workers in Taiwan has exceeded 86,000. In order to control the source and reduce the whereabouts of foreigners whose whereabouts are unknown, the Ministry of Labor has added a regular inspection mechanism. For foreigners exported to Taiwan by foreign manpower agency companies, the number and ratio of foreigners whose whereabouts are unknown exceeds the prescribed limit. After the suspension, the first suspension list has been released and has been submitted to the foreign arbitration institution to state its opinions according to the procedures. If it is correct, the list will be announced in June and the foreign embassy will be notified to suspend the acceptance of visa applications by the foreign arbitration institution for 7 days.
It is understood that the foreign human resources agency that was suspended for seven days for the first time was a Vietnamese agency. The Ministry of Labor issued an official notice in mid-May. In addition to giving notice to the Vietnamese agency that would be suspended, it also provided a list of names to the Vietnam Office in Taiwan.
According to statistics, as of the end of 2023, the number of valid foreign manpower agency companies recognized was 555, including 228 in Indonesia, 138 in Vietnam, 122 in the Philippines, 65 in Thailand, and 2 others.
移工失聯超標 首批外仲停權名單出爐
在台失聯移工人數已逾8.6萬人，為源頭控管降低外國人行蹤不明，勞動部增定期查核機制，外國人力仲介公司輸出來台的外國人，其行蹤不明逾規定人數及比率祭出停權處份，首次停權名單已出爐，依程序已先交由該外仲陳述意見，若無誤，將會在6月公布名單，並通知外館暫停7天受理該外仲辦理簽證。
據了解，首次被停權7日的外國人力仲介係越南仲介，勞動部已於5月中發公文通知，除給予將被停權的越仲，也一併提供名單給越南駐台辦事處。
根據統計，截至112年底，外國人力仲介公司認可有效家數是555家，其中印尼228家、越南138家、菲律賓122家、泰國65家以及其他2家。
