The Legislative Yuan passed the third reading, exempting migrant workers from hiring Barthel Index after 80 years old

The Legislative Yuan passed the amendment to Article 46 of the Employment Service Act on the third reading on December 31, 2024. Employers hire foreigners to engage in home care work. The care recipients are over 80 years old, or have stage 2 cancer between 70 and 79 years old. Those above are exempted from professional evaluation by medical institutions (i.e., Barthel Index evaluation); the Ministry of Labor should complete the promulgation of the supporting sub-law within 6 months after the presidential promulgation and the implementation of the law, and no later than the promulgation of the law. 立院三讀通過  80歲聘移工免巴氏量表

立法院113年12月31日三讀通過就業服務法第46條修正案，雇主聘僱外國人從事家庭看護工作，被看護者凡年齡滿80歲以上，或70歲至79歲患有癌症二期以上者，得免經醫療機構之專業評估（即免巴氏量表評估）；勞動部應在總統公布、法律實施後6個月內，完成配套子法之發布，至遲不得逾法律公布施行後1 年。
