The overflow of the Mataian Creek lake in Hualien caused serious damage. Along with local people, civic groups gathered 60 Indonesian and Vietnamese migrant workers in Taiwan to form a volunteer team. They spent their holiday to go to the disaster area, and many netizens left messages to express their gratitude.
By September 28, 2025, the disaster in Guangfu Township, Hualien County, had taken 17 lives, and 7 people were still missing. As soon as these friends from Indonesia and Vietnam heard that people in the disaster area needed help, they went under the hot sun with shovels, clearing out the muddy water and helping residents clean their homes. Their dedication and kindness were no less than anyone else’s.

花蓮馬太鞍溪堰塞湖溢流，造成嚴重災情。不僅台灣人，民間團體動員在台灣的印尼、越南移工共60名，組成志工隊，利用假日前往當地救災，網友們紛紛留言表達感謝。

截至2025年9月28日止，花蓮縣光復鄉災情造成17人罹難，還有7人失聯。這些來自印尼、越南的移工朋友，一聽到有災區的民眾需要幫忙，頂著大太陽，義不容辭地用鏟子努力將泥水掃出，幫民眾清理家園，熱心的程度不落人後。
