(FWA 2025/10/26) The Central Weather Administration (CWA) stated that successive northeast monsoons, coupled with a cloud system moving east from Southern China on the 28th, will affect the weather this week. The northern and eastern regions will be cool and wet, while the central and southern regions will be cool in the morning and evening, with strong winds.

  • Monday (Oct 27): Affected by the northeast monsoon, the northern and northeastern regions will be cool, with cool mornings and evenings in the central and southern regions. Temperatures nationwide will be low, around 21-24°C. The central and southern regions will see large diurnal temperature ranges; pay attention to clothing when going out. The chance of rain remains high in areas north of Taoyuan and the eastern half. Occasional afternoon thundershowers are possible in mountainous areas of the central and southern regions, while plains will be mostly cloudy.
  • Tuesday to Wednesday (Oct 28-29): Affected by the northeast monsoon and moisture moving east from Southern China, moisture will remain high. The northern and northeastern regions will continue to be cool, with cool mornings and evenings in other areas. On the 28th, as the Southern China cloud system moves east, the chance of rain will be high in areas north of Central Taiwan and the eastern half. Local heavy rain is expected in Keelung’s north coast, Yilan, and the mountainous areas of Greater Taipei.
  • On the 29th, moisture will still be abundant, with localized brief showers in the northern and northeastern regions, and localized heavy rain in the Yilan area. The Keelung north coast, Yilan, and Greater Taipei mountainous areas are prone to more continuous, prolonged rainfall on these two days. The southern region will be partly cloudy to clear, with localized brief afternoon showers in mountainous areas.
  • Thursday (Oct 30): The northeast monsoon will weaken, and daytime temperatures will rebound slightly, with highs between 27-33°C. Morning and evening temperatures will be lower, around 21-25°C. Rainfall will ease, though localized brief showers are still possible on the Keelung north coast and the eastern half, but the intensity and duration will decrease. Other areas will be mostly cloudy to clear, with isolated afternoon showers still possible in mountainous areas.
  • Friday to Saturday (Oct 31 – Nov 1): The northeast monsoon will strengthen again. Temperatures in the north and Yilan will drop again to 25-26°C. Mornings and evenings will be cold across Taiwan, with lows around 20-25°C. Localized brief showers are expected north of Taoyuan and in the eastern half. Other areas will be mostly cloudy, with localized brief afternoon showers in mountainous areas.
  • Sunday (Nov 2): Still affected by the northeast monsoon, the northern and eastern regions will remain prone to rain.
