(FWA 2025/11/24)The Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced that to provide diverse and convenient channels for the public to collect funds, Post Office collection for the NT$10,000 cash handout will open starting November 24, 2025. The collection period runs until April 30, 2026. Members of the public can visit counters at 1,292 Post Office locations across Taiwan’s townships and offshore islands during business hours. People are encouraged to visit a nearby location at their convenience. Before heading to the post office to collect cash, you can use the “Mobile Post” App (行動郵局APP) to check the waiting number at nearby post offices and take a number online to reduce waiting time.
The MOF explained that when using the Post Office collection for the NT$10,000 cash handout, those with a Health Insurance Card must bring their card (with a photo). Those without a Health Insurance Card should bring their original ID card or Alien Resident Certificate (ARC). If entrusting another person to collect the funds, in addition to the entruster’s (the recipient’s) Health Insurance Card, the proxy must bring their own original photo ID (ID card, ARC, or Health Insurance Card) and sign for the collection.
For nationals born in Taiwan between April 1, 2026, and April 30, 2026, who possess a birth certificate, family members should prepare the birth certificate and the original ID of the birth mother or father to collect the funds at a Post Office counter by May 22, 2026.
Furthermore, the MOF kindly reminds those who selected direct deposit to update their passbooks or check their online/mobile banking to confirm receipt. If registration or deposit fails, please re-register on the official website (https://10000.gov.tw), or switch to ATM or Post Office collection.
Additionally, ATM collection opened last week. During the collection period, the public can visit ATMs with identification stickers at 16 designated financial institutions across Taiwan (including Post Offices) to collect the NT$10,000 cash handout. These include Bank of Taiwan, Land Bank, Taiwan Cooperative Bank, First Bank, Hua Nan Bank, Chang Hwa Bank, Mega Bank, Taiwan Business Bank, Cathay United Bank, Taishin Bank, CTBC Bank, E.Sun Bank, Yuanta Bank, SinoPac Bank, Taipei Fubon Bank, and Chunghwa Post. There are over 28,000 ATMs available across Taiwan with over 80% coverage.
The ATM collection method is simple. You only need a debit card, your ID number or ARC number, and your Health Insurance Card number. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the collection. If a parent or guardian is collecting for a child under 13, the proxy should insert their own debit card, enter their own ID number, and the child’s Health Insurance Card number. ATM collection is free of charge and allows for interbank withdrawals. If an ATM is out of service or does not dispense cash, use the customer service phone next to the machine or call the bank’s 24-hour hotline.
