When entering or leaving Taiwan, individuals carrying cash, securities, or valuable items exceeding specified limits are required to make a voluntary customs declaration to avoid being fined

•New Taiwan Dollars: More than NT$100,000

•Renminbi (RMB): More than RMB20,000

•Foreign currency: Over US$10,000 in total value

•Bearer securities: Over US$10,000 in total value

•Gold: Over US$20,000 in total value

•Diamonds, gemstones and platinum: Over US$500,000 in total value
