In Taiwan labor retirement is divided into “voluntary retirement” and “mandatory retirement”
A worker can apply for voluntary retirement if one of the following conditions are met:
•Worked a minimum of 15 years and is 55 years of age or older
•Worked a minimum of 25 years
•Worked a minimum of 10 years and is 60 years of age or older
Workers who are eligible to apply for voluntary retirement can file a request with their employer, and the employer is required to pay retirement benefits in accordance with the law.
An employer can ask a worker to retire in the following situations:
•The worker reaches 65 years of age
•The worker is unable to perform their job to an adequate level due to physical or mental disability
If an employer seeks to enforce mandatory retirement in accordance with the law, he/she is required to pay retirement benefits

舊制退休金請領資格
勞工退休分為「自請退休」與「強制退休」
自請退休由勞工提出,條件為
•工作15年以上,年滿55歲
•工作25年以上
•工作10年以上,年滿60歲
勞工符合自請退休要件者,得向雇主請求退休,雇主應依法給付退休金
強制退休由雇主依規定辦理,條件為:
•年滿65歲
•身心障礙不堪勝任工作者
雇主如依法使勞工強制退休,應給付退休金
