During the summer months in Taiwan there are often thunderstorms in the afternoons, which can cause river levels in mountainous areas and valleys to rise quickly and landslides
•Go online and check the latest weather report or call the Weather Inquiry Hotline at (02)2349-1234. If you require interpretation services call the 1955 Hotline
•If the water level rises suddenly or the water become muddy get out immediately
•Tell friends or family where you are going and when you expect to be back
•Carry a raincoat, headlamp, food and water with you
