Can I change employers after my contract expires? According to regulations from the Ministry of Labor, employers must confirm their intentions 2 to 4 months before a migrant worker’s contract expires. If the migrant worker wishes to transfer to a new employer upon the expiration of the contract, they must submit an application to the Ministry of Labor. After the application is submitted, the system will automatically transmit the migrant worker’s information to the “Migrant Worker Employer Transfer Section – Foreigner Labor Rights Portal” for registration and announcement, making it available for inquiry.

Public employment service institutions will facilitate matchmaking through the system and hold regular coordination meetings. Migrant workers can match by attending these coordination meetings (absence without a valid reason will be deemed as forfeiting the transfer, and the worker must leave the country within a specified time limit). If a new employer holding a Recruitment Permit is found, the new employer, the original employer, and the migrant worker can sign a “Tripartite Agreement,” or the new employer and the migrant worker can sign a “Bilateral Agreement” to continue employment. In principle, the transfer must be completed within 60 days.

Providing exposure opportunities, the resume and job vacancy posting section is now online

To provide expats with more exposure opportunities for job seeking, the FWA has officially launched the brand new resume and job vacancy section effective immediately. We allow foreign nationals to post their job-seeking resumes for free, hoping to build a convenient two-way information platform to help expats in Taiwan successfully find their ideal jobs.

【Service Description and Operating Procedures】

  • Fill out the form online: Expats with job-seeking needs are welcome to fill out their personal resume information directly through the dedicated Google form.

  • Review and publication: To maintain the quality of information on the platform, FWA will regularly review the form content. After filtering out inappropriate or incorrect information, resumes that meet the standards will be published in the section.

  • Public information and direct contact: The published resume will publicly display the contact information you provide. Interested employers or agencies will contact you directly through this information.

  • Free pure exposure: We only provide a “free information posting service” as a simple exposure channel. This platform will absolutely not be involved in any subsequent contact, interview, or matchmaking activities.

Intentional fabrication, misappropriation of others’ data, or illegal posting on this platform by overstayers is strictly prohibited.

  • Violation handling mechanism: If it is verified (or reported by others) that the resume information is false, the identity is illegal, or the platform is used to engage in illegal advertising or profit-making activities unrelated to job matching, FWA has the right to directly remove the resume, permanently refuse to provide services, and reserves the right to notify the relevant competent authorities and pursue legal responsibilities.

[Personal Data Protection Statement and Removal Mechanism]

  • Personal data collection and use: The personal data you provide is solely for the specific purpose of public posting on the FWA website section and for potential employers or agencies to contact you. • Rights of the data subject and data management: In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to write to the FWA official email at any time to request inquiries, reviews, supplements, corrections, cessation of processing and use, or deletion of your personal data. To ensure the timeliness of information, all resumes will be taken down and the data will be destroyed by FWA after being posted for 2 months. If you have found a suitable employer earlier, you may also write to request the removal of your data at any time.
