Scammers often pretend to be bank or E-commerce customer service personnel and send Emails or text messages that contain unknown links to trick recipients into accessing bogus websites, typing in such important information as credit card details, security codes and OTP verification.
If you type in this information, scammers can immediately bond with a third-party payment platform and fraudulently use your credit card.
OTP verification is a “one-time password” that is used to verify a payment is being made by the cardholder and is generally sent by text message. The bank will never ask you to provide OTP verification.
If you discover irregular use of your credit card, immediately report it lost and call the 110 Crime Reporting Hotline for assistance. If you require translation services call the 1955 Hotline.
