To provide residents and foreign nationals with instant and convenient digital services, the Taichung City Government has set up free Wi-Fi in 29 public places, cultural and educational venues, public transportation areas, and popular tourist spots across the city. Recently, the service has been expanded to Rende Park, which now also offers free Wi-Fi.
According to the city government, Rende Park is one of Taichung’s distinctive parks and is located near scenic spots such as the Mayuantou Creek cycling path. That is why it was chosen as a new iTaichung hotspot location.
iTaichung is a free Wi-Fi program promoted by the Taichung City Government. So far, 1,195 hotspots have been installed across the city’s 29 administrative districts. In recent months, hotspots in Waipu, Daan, Dali, and Wuri districts have been upgraded, and now Rende Park has officially joined the network.
Although 4G and 5G mobile services are already widespread and many people use unlimited data plans, there are still elderly citizens and foreign workers who need Wi-Fi access to stay connected. The city government emphasized that iTaichung is an important digital public service for residents, foreign visitors, migrant workers, and students, and it will continue to be expanded and improved in the future.

台中市擴大iTaichung熱點 服務外籍人士
為提供民眾及外籍人士即時、方便的數位服務，台中市政府已在台中市29處公用場所、文教場館、大眾運輸，以及熱門景點設置免費無線網路，近期擴大到仁德公園增，提供免費無線網路。
市政府表示，仁德公園是台中市重要特色公園之一，鄰近麻園頭溪自行車道等景點，特別選擇於此增設iTaichung熱點。
iTaichung是台中市政府推動的免費無線網路，截至目前已於台中市29區設置達1195處熱點，近期已完成外埔、大安、大里及烏日等區域的熱點優化，這次啟動仁德公園熱點。
儘管當前4G或5G行動網路已普及，很多民眾已有無限制的行動網路，但仍有一些長輩、外籍移工，會需要無線網路服務來即時通訊。市府表示，iTaichung是台中市重要的數位公共服務，提供民眾、外籍旅客、移工及學生更友善的數位服務，未來將持續優化、擴建行動服務。
