(FWA 2026/9/11)Taiwan has launched an incentive program for returning independent travelers. If you have visited Taiwan recently and plan to visit again starting this October, you have a chance to win a NT$5,000 spending credit through the Taiwan Lucky Draw. If you travel with an Accompanying Friend/Relative, you can win up to NT$8,000 in total!

This free spending credit will be directly loaded onto one of Taiwan’s designated electronic stored-value cards (EasyCard, iPASS, or icash). Whether you want to take the MRT, buses, Taiwan Railways, High Speed Rail, and YouBike to easily get around every corner of Taiwan, buy coffee at major convenience stores like 7-ELEVEN and FamilyMart, shop at PX Mart and hypermarkets, or even enjoy Din Tai Fung, Starbucks, popular bubble tea, and explore famous night markets and commercial districts like Ximending and Fengjia, having one of these cards in hand makes everything effortless.

Come learn how to register to get your Lucky Draw qualification, plan your return trip to Taiwan, and explore new characteristic attractions!

Activity Period and Eligibility

  • Activity Period: 10/01/2026 to March 31, 2027, or until the budget is exhausted. (Lucky draw registration opens at 10:00 AM on October 1, 2026, for travelers arriving in Taiwan on or after October 10, 2026).

  • Eligible Participants: International independent travelers who enter Taiwan during the activity period with a non-Republic of China (Taiwan) passport, stay for 3 to 90 days, and are not participating in a travel agency tour group or receiving any other group subsidy applied for by a travel agency.

  • Categories and Prizes:

    • Returning Traveler (officially referred to as Repeat Visitor) (NT$5,000 spending credit): Must have a valid record of entry into Taiwan between January 1, 2023, and the day before registration. Each Returning Traveler may register only one accompanying Friend/Relative.

    • Accompanying Friend/Relative (NT$3,000 spending credit): A traveler who has not visited Taiwan between January 1, 2023, and the day before their arrival for this visit. Their travel period in Taiwan must overlap with that of the Returning Traveler.

Registration and Redemption Process

  • Step 1: Activity Registration (7 to 90 days before arriving in Taiwan)

    • Travelers must complete registration on the activity website (https://5000.taiwan.net.tw/). Each trip may be registered only once.

    • The registration information must exactly match the traveler’s passport information. Both the old and new passport information must be provided and uploaded if changed.

    • Each registration may be modified up to three times before the Winner Notification Email is issued.

  • Step 2: Lucky Draw and Winner Notification Email

    • The system will automatically conduct a rolling cumulative Lucky Draw every Wednesday at 12:00 noon.

    • Results are sent via email (to reduce the risk of missed emails, the use of qq.com email addresses is not recommended). Returning Travelers and accompanying Friends/Relatives enter the Lucky Draw together and will be selected as winners together, but they will receive separate winner notification links valid for 90 days.

  • Step 3: Post-arrival Verification (Within 24 hours of entering Taiwan)

    • After entering Taiwan, winning travelers must click the dedicated link in the Winner Notification Email within 24 hours to complete arrival verification and upload an image of their return flight ticket.

    • After the system confirms the information, a prize redemption QR Code will be issued. Failure to complete arrival verification within 24 hours will be deemed a forfeiture. Final verification deadline: 23:59 on April 1, 2027.

  • Step 4: Prize Redemption (Within 24 hours after completing verification)

    • Winners must claim their spending credit by presenting the prize redemption QR Code and their passport at designated redemption locations (7-ELEVEN stores) across Taiwan within 24 hours after completing verification.

    • Final redemption deadline: 23:59 on April 2, 2027. If the deadline is missed, the verification will become invalid.

Electronic Stored-Value Card and Spending Credit Rules

  • Card Preparation: The spending credit will be issued in the form of an electronic stored-value card. No physical card will be provided. Winners must prepare their own EasyCard, iPASS, or icash, or purchase a new card at their own expense to receive the top-up.

  • Special Note: The special “Taiwan the Lucky Land” electronic stored-value cards distributed during the previous campaign period from May 1, 2023, to September 30, 2025, may not be used to receive travel spending credit under this activity.

  • Usage Rules:

    • Single Card Loading: Returning Travelers and Accompanying Friends/Relatives must each use their own card. Cards may not be shared. The full amount must be loaded onto a single card and cannot be distributed across multiple cards.

    • The stored value on the card does not expire, but it may not be transferred or exchanged for cash. If the card is lost or damaged, the remaining balance on the card will not be reissued or refunded.

  • Card Spending Limits:

    • EasyCard: The maximum amount per transaction is NT$1,500, and the maximum daily spending limit is NT$3,000.

    • iPASS: The maximum amount per transaction is NT$1,000, and the maximum daily spending limit is NT$3,000 (does not apply to iPASS MONEY electronic payments).
