The difference between parking and temporarily stopping understanding red and yellow line rules

A:I was just riding my bike and briefly stopped on a red line when I was fined even though I was still on the bike and had not turned off the engine.

B:Generally, it is “illegal to park” on a yellow line from 7am to 8pm but you can ”stop temporarily“. For example, if you are picking up and dropping of passengers or moving goods, but if you go over a fixed period of time or leave the vehicle you will still be fined.

A:So you can never stop on a red line and only temporarily on a yellow line. In future I will be sure to pay attention to the rules.
