(FWA 2026/01/29)Suspension – If a driver’s license is held by the motor vehicle authority for any reason, the individual is not permitted to drive during the suspension period. Doing so is considered driving without a license and if caught the license can be directly revoked. Once the suspension period ends, the license is returned to the driver, with its period of validity remaining the same.
Revocation – If a driver’s license is directly revoked, the individual no longer has the right to drive. In order to obtain a new license, he or she must wait until the prescribed period has passed and retake the driving test.

認清駕照吊扣與吊銷
吊扣 – 因故將駕照扣留在監理機關，吊扣期間不可以開車出門，若期間駕駛車輛上路會被視為無照駕駛，一旦被取締駕照直接吊銷；待扣留期限到了即可返還駕駛人，駕照效力不會被解除。
吊銷 – 駕照直接被取消，駕駛人不再擁有駕駛權利。必須等到規定期滿後重新考照。
